Original mixed media painting on canvas, 48” x 36” x 1.5”

My first large painting of the year is complete! It is titled 'Extraordinary Adventure', as a reminder of my chosen word for the year, which is Adventure.

This piece feels very special to me, as I took a lot of risks, but had some great breakthroughs as a result. The color palette is a new one for me, and I have been wanting to incorporate more arabesque patterns into my work, but feared that the static nature of the pattern would not work well on my more expressive paintings. Somehow I think it all worked out quite well.
